Recognizing the connection between the health of culture and the health of the planet, the group uses art and music to generate excitement about green solutions as they custom-design eco-blueprints for concert tours, schools, businesses, and events. Since its inception in 2006, Rock ’n Renew has brought the message of sustainability to thousands of people through rock shows, festivals, lectures, and installations. With his newest venture, True Offsets, Dubowsky brings total transparency to the world of carbon offsets. Based in Hawaii, the company allows users to buy a tree for roughly $40, track the tree over its lifetime via a website, and learn how much carbon dioxide it's absorbing. When the tree is harvested (and it must be -- a dead tree emits all the carbon it has absorbed back into the atmosphere), the buyer learns what it will become, and shares in the profit. Jonny Duboswky has been a frequent guest host on shows on Planet Green, as well as a guest on Conan O’Brien and The Adam Carolla Show. When not busy with his enviornmental projects, Jonny Dubowsky is the lead singer for Jonny Lives, a popular, thundering rock band with a biofuel van and a growing critical and popular reputation. |
