ROCK BAND ROCK-OFF TOURNAMENT

THE OFFICIAL RULES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Qualifiers (Dec 21,22,23)
• Contestants may play either as a band or as a solo guitarist.
• Each band is comprised of as many members as they want (up to four) and they may play at any difficulty they desire.
• One person can not play in two different bands
• One person can not play in a band and in the solo competition.
• Contestants must be over 18 years old to enter the competition.
• Bands are allowed to have a band member sing and play an instrument at the same time.
• If a band member chooses to sing and play an instrument at the same time during the qualifying round, they must also sing and play the instrument during the final round for all final round songs.
• There will be a qualifying round, consisting of one (1) song, to rank all bands.
• Each band plays one (1) song of the band’s choice.
• At the end of the song the band’s in-game score will be recorded. When the song is over do not play any more notes. Do not skip past the scoring screen before the judges can record your score. This same rule applies to the solo competitors.
• After all bands are ranked, the top three (3) bands and the top three (3) solo competitors will enter the final round.
• Only ten bands and ten solo competitors will play per day for the 3 days of qualifying rounds. This is a first come first serve bases. Bands will register for whichever day of the 3 day qualifiers they would like by emailing CONTEST.MASON@GMAIL.COM with the following info: Band name, members names (if you want to play solo then just your name), song of choice, which of the 3 days you want to play, email address, and phone number. • Scoring will be as follows: Total final score + Costume points (up to 5000) + Classic rock moves (up to 5000).
• Gaming system and instruments will be provided. No outside devices allowed.
• The game version will be ROCK BAND 2 for the ps3.
• All characters chosen at random by the Alamo Drafthouse.
• Top three (3) bands and solo competitors will be notified by email and telephone prior to the finals.



Finals (Dec 28)
• Top three (3) bands and solo players each pick one (1) song of their choice. (A band may not pick the same song as another band. The band with highest points from qualifiers picks first. Same applies to the solo division.) Each band will play their song plus the other two band’s songs. This also applies to solo players.
• Scoring will be as follows: Total combined final score from all three (3) songs + Costume points (up to 10,000) + Classic rock moves (up to 10,000).
• In the event of a tie, the tied bands will participate in a tie breaker round.
• During the tie breaker round, each band will play one (1) song of the band’s choice. At the end of the tie breaker round, the band with the highest overall score will be named the Overall Champion.
• If a band member chose to sing and play an instrument at the same time during the qualifying round, they must also sing and play the instrument during the final round for all final round songs.
• At the end of the song the band’s in-game score will be recorded. When the song is over do not play any more notes. Do not skip past the scoring screen before the judges can record your score. This same rule applies to the solo competitors
• All characters chosen at random by the Alamo Drafthouse.
• Gaming system and instruments will be provided. No outside devices allowed.
• Failure to show up to the finals results in disqualification.



Code of Conduct
• Anyone competing in an unsportsmanlike manner or in a manner that is not in compliance with these rules may be immediately disqualified from this tournament.
• Cheating of any sort through various means including devices to add gameplay
• Any other known or unknown way of tampering with gameplay
